Has anyone used the fumotousa drain plug? If so how has it worked for you? Does it hang down to low? Are you warried that some day you may catch it on something and snap it off? Tell me what you think.
I have it on all my trucks (3). Love it. My trucks are 4WD and the front axle will take a hit first. MAYBE if I were rock crawling I would worry about it.
this is one of the things a always want to get but never do and then change the oil the regular way and have 5k miles where i don't want to spend the extra money. but with my luck or my brother wrenching seems like every other oil change the bolt gets stripped.
when i traded my 03 on my 05 it was a condition of sale that they took it out of the old truck and installed on new one. two mechs, pull out and put thumb over hole, trade plugs reinstall, prob didn't lose more than 1 quart between both trucks

Maybe you need to get a diff. gorilla to change your oil? Or buy your drain plugs by the case. Cheaper that way.
Another fumoto user here. I really like that I can start/stop the stream to put the oil gallon jugs one at a time. I bought a catch can, but it seems the two types I went though aren't very good at holding 15 quarts of oil.
I've had the Fumoto on my 6.0 for at least 3 years. No problems to date and I've not worried for one second about it getting damaged or snapped off while off roading. I would be more worried about damaging the driveshaft than damaging the Fumoto if the trail is that rough.
Some guys put a hose clamp around the valve to make sure nobody can open it and drain all of the oil out. No worries here over that happening.
It definitely makes it easier to avoid getting used motor oil, a known carcinogen, on your hands. It also won't get dropped into the drain pan, it won't get lost or get stripped threads.
I bought the one without the nipple, which initially I thought was a mistake. But, the stream is very narrow and consistent, so I am able to pretty well direct it wherever I want it to go. It is great also for getting samples for oil analysis. Of course, all of the above is off if you happen to change your oil outside on a windy day.
Put one on my '03 with the nipple. I have a 4" long hose on it; I slide a 5gallon plastic container under the truck and the hose sits down into the opening of the container by about an inch.
When I'm changing the oil on the windiest of days not a drop is lost...love it!

Reason: spelling
ditto, have one with the nipple, cause i like nipples. LOL and i think it is top five mods you can do. the other four I can't really remember right now.
