clothes dryer problem

I've got a basic maytag front load clothes dryer that has developed a problem.

One of the 3 "paddles" on the barrel came loose. its held on by 3 screws, two are gone and the 3rd is pretty loose.

is there any sort of easy access to this barrel part, if i could access it i could just rescrew the thing on.

Ideas?

The top should pop off to access the drum. The top on most dryers is held on with some clips that expand into holes in the top.

Carefully and slowly slide the blade of a flat-head screwdriver under the top panel of the dryer, starting at one of the front corners. Very carefully tilt the screwdriver to pry the top panel upward, taking care not to scratch the finish. Move the screwdriver around the top panel as you pry it up a little at a time. You should hear two pops, one at each corner. These are the retaining clips coming loose. After both clips have popped loose, you should be able to lift up the top panel like the hood of a car.

Use a metal putty knife of the screwdriver is unable to get to the spring-clips.
