awesome link,I was checking all different areas on there and noticed that at nuclear plant a couple of people were wearing open toed sandals.I`m pretty sure osha would shut them down over here.
nice post my friend
That boat can't be in active service............The level of maintenance is horrible!
Still, its kinda sad to see such a engineering marvel rusting away to scrap.....The Russians have made some incredible military machines over the decades, the Russians are a lot of things, but dumb is not one of them.
Damn, every time I go to the English Russia site I am there for at least an hour. There is some pretty cool stuff, and really when you look at it they (as a people) aren't that different from us, just the society they lived in.

It is very ironic, Russians and Americans seem to have a lot in common in the everyday sense. Check out the Russian military aviation sections, great stuff!
We tried a building a super large twin reactor sub back in the late 50's and it was a flop. It was so big if it moved with any speed you could tell it's submerged position and course by the wave it created. The only thing it accomplished was being the first submarine to circumnavigate the world completely submerged. It was decommishened after just a few years.
It's definitely a stalking sub- those panels are rubber to absorb sonar, but the seams are so bad it probably sounds like a freight train going through the water.

Yes, they built some innovative and fascinating aircraft. There are quite a few internet sites too.

I've been there about half a dozen times now and my response to that comment is:

The people themselves ar the warmest, friendliest, most hospitable people I've
met anywhere in the world.

There is some controversy about this but I think the pictures speak for
themselves... this is a pictorial of the Chernobyl area with some sad & chilling
commentary by a young gal who lives somewhat nearby (I think Ukraine but
don't remember for certain).
That's a Typhoon class boat. They've been in service for about 23 years + or -. They're very stealthy, very deep diving and very capable.
U.S. boats though smaller, are quieter and much better built keeping personel safety as a first priority. American boats have been using sound deadening materials for over 20 years on the pressure hulls.
