dishwasher help

So I went to my grandmother's for dinner tonight, and she showed me a problem with her dishwasher she wants me to fix.

It's a fairly new one, installed in a '70s or early '80s formica kitchen, with drawers beside it. When either the dishwasher or the drawer is partway open, you can't open the other because they hit. As best I can tell, what has happened is that the front corner of the DW has dropped down, and so the whole thing is not square to the counter and drawers. (It appears to be about .25-.375" off.)

Best way I can see to fix it is to get some thin wooden shims and hammer them into the gaps around the dishwasher and try to square it up. But, I'm concerned that since I will only be able to adjust the front of the DW, if the whole thing has tilted I might just move the problem.

Anyone run across something like this before?

(I should also not that my grandfather is not the handiest person in the world, and sometimes gets upset if people take things apart that he can't put back together (even if the person who took it apart CAN put it back together ) so I'd really like to avoid taking the DW out if I can.)

If you take the bottom cover off there should be threaded legs that you can use to level it up. And some also have screws in the top that you can see when you open the door which are scewed into the counter top to hold it in place

ok not too hard to level as stated above remove the bottom covers and there is adjustable legs also if you need to shift sideways there should be 2 screws going up into the countertop to see them open the door and look up.

There is leveling legs on the dishwasher, usually 4, and then its screwed on to the bottom of the countertop.
Remove the kick panel and take a look at it. If the dishwasher fell out of place most likley what happened is the flooring (hardwood,tile,pergo,...) wasn't laid under the dishwasher and so the front feet were sitting up higher on the edge of the floor. Then it fell down to where 1 foot is now on the subfloor making it lean.
