My front tires on my 09 are cupping on the inside, I've been towing a light trailer for the last hundred miles or so. Would that make the tires do that? I thought these trucks were made to tow. Should I go back to the dealer with this problem?
My 05 did that, the lower ball joints were bad, had them replaced at under 5000mi. on the truck, also if ford still recommends 35psi bump that up to at least 40 these are heavy trucks
Only 7500, dealer service dept said rotate at 9000, The dealer is doing the maintenance.
9000 mile rotations? Where did they get that odd number from? That might be a good reason why they are cupping. OE tires suck anyway even if they are a good brand name.
I'd call a couple of tire dealers and ask thier opinions. Things amy have changed since I bought my last set of tires 3 years ago.
5-6,000 miles or around there should be good. The stock tires are not that good usually but the alignment could have been off some from the factory. Have it checked thats probably some reason but also rotate sooner than 9000 miles.
If you need an alignment, the dealer may foot the bill if you ask and if right conditions are present
If and since your tire problem ends up not being a "factory-related defect" and therefore not a warranty related repair item, it is "Ford policy" to nevertheless provide certain maintenance items, when necessary free of charge.
Examples are wiper blades, wheel alignments, tire balancing and brake/pad lining replacement.
of course, if it a warranty item then the warranty covers it anyways.
I seen this in the guide that came with the truck. Thanks
