and that maybe a good sign you still have that flash (most of the time means you haven't had warranty work done at the dealerships because they usually update the flashes)
Thanks...ok still learning here;
I do not have studs yet or the EGR removed.
Do you think the latest flash would be a good idea for longevity of my truck? And how much does that usually cost.....or seek a custom flash.
One day I will help others with all of this info I learn here.
does it get cold where you live?? or places that you travel??? that would be my personal reasoning to update a flash if my truck was taking longer than normal to warm up when just started. if your trucks running good go with what you got, if that buzzing sound hasn't bugged enough. haha
and the flashes are usually $100 but under warranty if "needed" because of your cold start issues or whatever you think then it could be free it think. i haven't had a warranty in a while...
custom flashes is a whole different thing. custom tuning like SCT or custom FICM tuning?
Yeah I am not under warranty anymore. But the truck runs great. I bought it a month ago from a Navy buddy who treated great. Looks and runs like new.
It does not get cold here in the sunshine state. But in a year I will be moving and it will be very cold there. Hopefully all studs, EGR delete and top recommended mods will be done by then.
Then I will go SCT tuning....little scared to SCT it before studs.
BTW I dig the buzzing and everything else about a diesel!!!
What buzz are you guys talking about? And how would one know if a certain flash was done or not? Sorry I'm not up on too many abbreviations. TIA....Tim
yep i got the flash in 07 and my FICM failed a few months later. i have a new one now but am thinking if i should pay $100 to ford for the new one or get a basic innovative custom flash for $200 plus shipping. or just keep running what i got, truck runs perfect already has a ton of power and the tunes i have i like a lot.
