Hey guys, since I am doing some front end work and will be in need of an alignment. Should have my truck flashed to the latest update from ford? I have no clue what I have in there now but when I got the oasis report and ran the vin. The service writer said that it was a few behind the latest flash. Second I am close to purchasing an exhaust and tuner/ Ficm tune how does the latest ford flash affect these?
Personally I wouldn't have the truck flashed until after you purchase the tuner and find out what it has in it now. You may have an older flash which is a better base for tuning the PCM than what you'll get from Ford. If you are going to flash the FICM anyway then the Ford flash really won't matter.

Some of the old flashes are better from a tuning, power, and fuel economy standpoint. One of the favorites is VXCF4 but that's mainly late 2006 and 2007 trucks.
See what you have, talk to Chris of Truck Source Diesel, Matt of Gearhead, Eric of Innovative, and/or Vivian of Quick Tricks auto and any one of them can tell you if it's a good strategy to work with.
Per npccpartsman, the FICM tuner over comes alot of what Ford takes out as they've locked the FICM down more and more with each new flash. Either way you can't go wrong, but knowing what strategy you have is a great place to start.
I had my ficm repaired online and had atlas 40 program in it. Would getting a new flash from ford negate or erase what ficmrepair.com did? Or no effect?
