With a tilt wheel the wire for the turn signal will sometime pull out of the Multifunction Switch on column. Turn signal wipers and dimmer switch. Drop trim panel off bottom of steering wheel 4 screws pull MFS 2 torx screws, look at back of switch see if any wires are pulled out. On daughters ranger it is a light blue wire. Push it back in after u tighten the female part of connector. Thats how I fixed hers. Hope this helps.
ok here is the next question.... what color is the wire that leads to the truns signal fuse on the fusebox? i just jumped the fuse by using another always hot fuse, and the turn signals magically worked... i could leave it like that, but its rigged, and id rather it done right, any thoughts?
The reason I asked about the tilt , is , a wire (copper part) can be broken in side the insulation & not be visible . I have seen it many ,many times . you have to pull on the wire looking for a soft spot..
I have replaced a couple MFS's that weren't the problem...
Your key ignition (run) position is working OK as it runs other things that are working. Trace that GRY/YEL wire from the fuse back and it shows it goes to a junction near that fuse panel and connects to other wires that control things such as AC-Heater Control Assembly. Easy for me to say ...
Did this just happen or what? Years ago I drilled a hole in the firewall to install something and killed the back lights night lights. I did not have a clue for months until a cop pulled me over. Darn, that was hard getting up under there trying to repair the wires.
Anyway another option is to jumper the hot side of fuse #1 to the hot side of fuse #7. They both would be the same color code .. GRY/YEL .. and they both go back to the same junction. Fuse #1 controls your AC/Heater.
