I just bought one off of craig's list. If this link works for you its the only thing I have found. I haven't got time for another month or so to install it so I'm all ears on what you find out. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...-plumbing.html
It looks like most that have done this and had success have converted to rear disk brakes. But in that one link the guy says to use the existing master cylinder with the hydroboost if still with drums. So I could still make this work. I want to upgrade to disks in the rear sometime in the future, but haven't heard of very many kits for a dually.
I've got a line on a used system with SD master cylinder and pressure lines. Could maybe make it work.
Also it appears that most have used they hydroboost units from the 97 OBS F450 (superduty) and they were a perfect fit. Does anyone know if the 99-04 units are different? The one I'm looking at is from a '02.
you can check out my hydro-boost conversion on my site. I did it a while back and wouldn't go back. I currently still have drums in the rear. Hopefully soon to convert to disc which will require a master cyl change to the F-Superduty Master Cyl.
The link I put up says part # E8TZ-2005-B and the part # I bought off of craig's list is
2CZ3-2005-BB. Now another guy told me the first part # is for a 88 year. The second part # is for a 99 thru 04 F250 & F350. Some of those links, to me, sounds like horror stories. I want the direct bolt on that some talk about, I don't have time for shims, grinding, etc.
Thanks Brian. For some reason I can't get your website to load up at work. I looked at it just briefly last night at home before I went ot bed and it came up.
I'm going to look into the SD van dually rear ends a little closer. They are factory disk brakes but not sure if they are a cab/chassis width or normal like my truck. If it's normal width then I can just do a swap. If not them maybe I can just use the brake components for mine. IIRC the SD vans still have the 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern.
Either way I think I'm going to give this a whirl. The unit I'm looking at has the SD master cylinder still on it so I'd have that when I convert to disks. The MC on the truck now is still in good shape to reuse until that happens.

I would love to check out your site but its asking me for a password???

The hydro-boost unit on my 97 "appears" to be the same as the one on my 02. When it quits raining I'll go out and check for sure.
