Manual transfer case low range switch
Hey all. I have a manual transfer case in my truck. When I move the lever from 2H to 4H, the 4x4 light comes on. When I move it into neutral, and then into 4x4 low, the light on the dash doesnt come on. The "4x4" comes on, but the "low" doesnt. I did find one plug on top of the t-case, and jumpered the wires together, but the light didnt come on. Any ideas?? If nothing else, maybe a wiring schematic?

I checked my 2001 EVTM on CD and can't find anything about the manual tranfer case.
Is that connector a three-wire connector? Or just two?
If it's just two, ground each wire, one is 4x4 and one is 4x4LOW I bet.
Sounds like the switch on the transfer case is bad if the wiring is good.
Did you check if the lamp is OK? Does the 4x4 light come on when you cycle the key?

Thank you for checking your CD and responding.
The plug has 2 wires. I didnt think about both were power, and they grounded through the case... I only jumped them together. I have a scan tool that also reads when the "low" range is selected, and it did not read the the case was in "low" either when manual selected in 4L or when I jumped the 2 wires. I would THINK the light on the dash is ok. When it started messing up a while back, the light would SOMETIMES work, so I am kinda leaning towards a switch. Just wanted to troubleshoot it a little before I bought one.
