please help!!!!2 day old 1995 f150 and having problems

i just got this truck 2 days ago for work that is 25 miles one way 95 f150 4x4 ex-cab 5.8l......question is i was towing a flat trailer tonight and i noticed like the truck was feeling like it was going over a a bunch of bumps or hopping sorta. my dad said put in 4 wheel drive (its a 4 wheel on the fly by the way) so i put it on 4 wheel and it was still kinda of doing and it started clicking in the front end i was doing 35mph the whole time we got where we were gong unloaded the trailer went back and the noise was still coming from the front end and the 4 wheel drive was off and still felt like like was going over bumps or hopping.... so did i destroy my 4 wheel drive or front end or something else and how much will it cost at a shop to fix it ? please help!!!!! by the way i have no i have no towing knowledge ever

The clicking noise is probably your auto lockers. And if they are clicking they need replaced. I recommend Manual Lockers, they are much stronger.

Never engage 4X4 on dry pavement. If it has not disengaged try backing up for about 10 feet with the wheels straight.

The bumpy hops may be a bad tire. Or a bent rim, axle, etc. COuld be busted wheel lugs as well as loose lug nuts.

DO a visual, pull and tug.

If it was "bumping and hopping" before you put it in 4wd I don't think it's related to your xfer case or other 4x4 components. Wheel bearing, maybe?

Tires aired up?

Did it do it all the time or only when you put on the brakes?

it was never doing this till i was towing the trailer tonight it had a stove and a full frezzer and a fridge and random light stuff on it and after we unload the the trailer went back and still was bumpy ride it felt like ....by the way the trailer is a very oldddddd trailer like some one built so maybe it was the trailer making it feel that way i have no idea im stomped ......

I assumed you dropped the trailer when you said you unloaded it. You didn't try it without the trailer?

Drop the trailer and go for a ride. The trailer could have caused your problem.

Have you tried it AFTER you unhooked the trailer? You're right, could have just been the trailer.
