Rain Guards for the windows

Anybody got them? What did you get? Manufacturer? Price? Type: stick on, or in channel? How do you like them? Any info would be great.
Thanks.

I have NEVER been a fan of in channel... they always seem to shift, and cause leaks at some point. I always go adhesive backed. Have you checked prices with the Ford dealer on OEM models? They shouldnt be too bad price wise. If I recall, they run somewhere around $50 for a set.

had a set by AVS on my 2006 FX4. They were awesome.

paid about $50, and I was looking the other day and their still about that price.

BTW, I'd keep it with the stick-on type. The in-channels seem to cause window rubbing problems, and/or scratch the glass. And when you roll up the windows, they pinch that last 1" or so of travel and you can see the window slow down

I've always purchased Lund Vent Visors. Not AVS, but those actually imprinted with the Lund name. Don't know the difference since they are made by the same company, but have always gotten a good Lund product, so why change. They all sell for about the same $40-$50.

Like most people that have posted, I'll take the adhesive back over the in-channel. Had the in-channel on my '99 Explorer and worst decision. It slows down and scratches the window. Also after prolonged use, it had pushed out the rubber weatherstripping and rolled up you could see it bulging out. Which never leaked water, but with the windows up, you could hear an air draft/whistle coming in.

I will vote for in-channels . . .meekly I guess. I have had three units that used the WeatherTech in-channels, inc. present 09 XLT. Never a problem.

Also, a consideration is the look you desire too. The in-channels are more sleek/flat against the window (i.e. do not stick out as much) whilst the taped ones look more fuller and "bulbous." I have no problem with either look/design.

But, on this type of product - whatever floats yer boat. Good luck, you cannot go wrong with what everyone above is saying generally.

Will the vent visors for the 04-08 work on the 09-10 models? Sorry for the newbie question, but I just traded my 08 Super Duty for an 09 F150 (the last Ford regular pickup I had was a 1966 F100. I stopped by Advance Auto today and he said he'd have to order them.

Depends on the F150 you have. If it is a Rcab or Screw, then no. If it is a Scab model, they should fit.

Basically the 04-08 Rcab/Screw F150's had shorter front doors with smaller windows, while the Scab models had larger front doors/windows. Since they stretched the F150 by 6" for the 09+ models, all three now have the same size front doors. If you bought 04-08 visors for an 09/10 Rcab/Screw, you'd notice the visors would be too short for the windows.

Hope that makes sense. Here's some pics that I hope show how drastically different in size the front doors are. Compare the size of the front door to the size of the rear door.
