Bought my 5/16" Fuel injection hose from FLAPS yesterday. 1.25 ft. Yep printed "for fuel injection purposes" right on it. I think the cute girl at the counter who is new didn't know there was a difference and rang up the regular stuff. Bought some other stuff so I didn't notice till now when I looked at the reciept.

Fuel suction steel coming out of the tank is 3/8 suctionline along the frame rail is 5/16 I got a spiffy barbed fitting 3/8 on on side 5/16 on the other from Lowes.

If you replace the steel line completely, you can attach the 3/8ths line directly to the tank, and go straight to the fuel pump. Well, except for the pre-pump filter you put inline.

But why the high-priced, high-pressure, J30R9 hose on the suction side?

Why not J30R7 instead? Biodiesel?

Pop, The sole reason is the bio diesel.. Not that I run it that much, and right now it is more expenseve then regular diesel. but I might as well be safe.

DONE!!! 4.5 hours, I must have lowered and raised that tank 7 times to make sure I wasnt pinching a hose. I have not hit the "truck stop" yet. I was able to remove 4" from the fill tube, and 3" from the vent tube.. I used the ratchet style PVC cutter so I wouldnt havent any mess in the tank.

Does this sound right? Or do I have my hopes up for nothing?

No sound difference right now

If you weren't getting any air before, and you're still not, the sound will be the same.

But you're REALLY going to like the way it fills at the gas station now.

Now I've got a rubber line coming over the frame rail going into my filter, then the hose goes through the hole in the frame and hooks onto the factory steel line. You can also use a foot of hose on the fuel pump to get rid of the factory quick connects.
How did you tie it back into the factory line? Just a worm clamp, or did you get a barbed fitting or something else?

How long did it take you to get the tank down initially? Im planning on doing this before winter...hopefully!
