if you can get 30r9 hose for that price you better buy the whole roll. the guy probably misquoted it is usually around 3.70 a foot. just so youre not surprised.....
what in the world is a HILO?
My local AZ doesnt even have any in stock. Advance said it was 3.99 a foot. Looks like Im just going to buy diesel innovations kits and add whatever I need to. Hose price alone makes it cheaper to buy! Their shipping is only 5 bucks to me too!
ah ok! a fork lift. the only other time ive heard it called a fork truck was in the navy. and im originally from michigan but never heard of a hilo before....
Anyone know where to get some cheap 30R9 fuel line from?

Autozoo is where I got mine. They carry Goodyear brand hose. One thing to note, the fuel line with the blue interior lining is biodiesel rated. One store I went to had some 30R9 hose that did not have the blue lining on the inside, so if Bio is ever a possibility, it would be good to pick up the right one. http://www.goodyearep.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=5144

Great to know Chris, I run a 5% bio blend, thanks.. Also, Pat, wasn't sure if you meant, hi-lo or hilo, the first I know but the second I would think Hawahi, lol. lol again because I mispelled it.
I did the Harpoon mod a couple years ago but didn't have time for the Hutch mod so that just got done last week. While I was at it I also threw on the flex HPX from Clay after closing up the ends of the heat sleeve with shrink tube. I used steel fuel line for in the tank as there was no SS availble locally. I did not replace the SS line from the tank to the pump only the factory flex line at either end. I installed an inline filter just prior to the pump and all seems fine.
My wife will probably say I'm full of ***** but it sounded quieter to me both in town and on the freeway, with the windows down. As a bonus it seems I picked up about two(2) mph at the same rpm on the freeway, I can only assume it is because there is less air in the fuel, as others have noticed increases in mileage with the Airdog system.
So far, so good.
Jock, 4 inches of 3/8" and 30 inches of 5/16" is all I needed to put the pick up back into place and to put the return to the rear of the tank.
Who says what the "proper tubing" is? (or proper anything for that matter) Just because somebody use a specific thing does not make it the only thing that has to be used. I am not saying SS is not a better choice but I don't see where the use of SS is needed on this mod. My .02.
Pat, Aluminum would work but it could work harden from vibration and then break, I would use steel at minimum. I used less than two feet of hose, just replaced the factory flex hose on either end of the factory SS line.
Last question.. it says you need 10' of the hose, why am I not splitting the old steel line and installing the filter in the center, or near the end?
What I did was trim a couple of feet off the factory steel line and tied into that with the hose. The 10' is only needed if you abandon the factory line. I looked for one of the holes in the frame and trimmed the line in front of it. Now I've got a rubber line coming over the frame rail going into my filter, then the hose goes through the hole in the frame and hooks onto the factory steel line. You can also use a foot of hose on the fuel pump to get rid of the factory quick connects.
Thanks everyone, today is the day, the hose we all have been speaking of was 4.99 a foot. I should be starting this around 7AM after I get all of my contractors all set, I will check in with you later. Looking forward to hitting the "truck stop" to fill the tank today.
