Why does is it that every time I think I have stumbled upon a good book series that's obscure enough that books are easy enough to get and then find out that its actually popular and hard to get?

Why can't it just behave? First it messes itself with oil all over the garage and now it throws a tantrum and boils over constantly. BAD HEEPY!
