Bitter-Square-2851•9mo agoThe saying came far back in the early days, from a common problem of bats living in the attics and basements of houses, with an ongoing and unresolved problem. They multiplied and they crapped a lot where they live. The multitude of droppings would emit particularly toxic fumes that contaminated the air. The women that stayed home all day and the care takers that would live in or near the attics in adjacent rooms or basements of the same proximity to the toxins, were poisoned. These toxins eventually became known to cause mind and mood altering temporary brain damage, similar to that of an infestation of roaches, or even worse , bedbugs. It definitely becomes mentally challenging to say the least, when having to tolerate such environments for extended periods of time. The bat duke effect was far worse than any other infestation. The women would react and act very irrational and erratically. Once the source of their craziness was learned, because they all shared the same demeanor and problems, the men began to say "She is Bat Shyt Crazy! " , just for any reason at all, far after the problem was resolved and everyone's heads leveled out. But honestly, idk if the mental problems it caused was ever completely reversed. But a long time ago, if a woman was flying off the handle, most anyone, male or female might say that phrase to her. The saying was mainly only said to women and it's out of context when saying it to a male.
