I had a SC first then a CC. I won't go back to the SC. Couldn't stand the door rattle, and the extra room in the CC is nice when traveling. On the other hand, I do like the looks of the SC better.
Well, I have both. When I bought the 2003 Crew back in 2007 I kept my 92 F150 Super Cab.
Like the commercial says, if you're gonna haul people...the crew is the way to go. If you're just looking for some convienient extra space then the SC fits your bill.
Personally, I have a 90 Lb Black Lab and Jasper perfers the crew because he has a lot more room to roam and lay down comfortably.
I've taken the crew with 3 adults and a 2 year old on a trip from WV to TX and back...it was amazingly comfortable...it beats the heck out of the wife's Taurus Wagon!
The one thing I would like about the CC over an EC is that there are less door rattles with the CC. I would also think that the cab has more rigidity with a cc. The CC with a short bed is also 2 inches shorter than an EC with long bed. I would not be one to recommend a 6.0L PSD to anyone though. It's as problematic as the early Duramaxes were. The 2004.5 and newer Duramax engines are probably better than a 6.0L PSD. The old 7.3L was the best PSD imo. Not real refined, but extremely reliable.

When did you fellas start getting door rattles, roughly how many miles on your truck? I have heard of a few others talk about this as well and I haven't had any sort of rattle with mine.
Crew cab looks better & if you decide to sell it later the crew cab will sell much faster than an extended cab.
thats another thing i was thinking about...seems to be alot more demand for a crew cab. i guess ill just have to see what happens. if i see a really good deal on a SC i probably wouldnt pass it up.

I live on a dirt road, and my supercab doors rattled from day one.
Just buy the whole truck, crew-cab, long bed, Like Mikey used to say " Try it you'll like it ". If you buy the 05 or newer you get coil springs on the front end and a much better turning radius, and the gas engines are 3 valve engines and have a lot more horse power and torque than the earlier ones, and the 05 and newer 6.0 psd have very few problems when left stock or lightly modified. ( not to say the older trucks aren't any good, I like them as well ) If your wallet is fat enough there is nothing like a brand new one to help spear the economy. Good luck.
I wouldnt mind a reg cab or super if I had no plans of hauling more than 1 other person ever. The super cab is great for extra storage of gear, but not so much for people. Maybe a buddy that needs a ride to the farm for a deer drive can squeze in back there but dont plan on impressing your girlfriends parants taking them for a ride in the back seats. I like reg cabs the best but with a wife and just one son its become a pita driving a reg cab so I just got a crew.
