all the dentsides i have worked on was like the pics posted by smoke20 and they would come out if rolled at the right angle with out lifting the cab, but if they were any bit longer there would be no chance of it with out lifting the cab, that is auto and manual shuft trucks.
I had to replace my crossmember when I swapped from the NP203 to a NP205. The bolts came down from the top like Smoke20's picture shows. I had to remove the bolts to get the new crossmember in. I ended up having to take a prybar and moving the cab up a little to get them out, but not a big deal.
I would just flip them and be done. No use cutting them off or cutting holes in your new pans. That will just cause more headaches down the road.
Well I went and flipped the bolts. It worked out great! No more holes in my floor pans now! Just have to finish welding them in tomorrow!
The only problem I have run into is the passenger side floor pan was cut 1/2" short on the door side, so now I have to weld in a strip to fill it out.
