I,m not sure what you have now. I just took a stab in the dark and ordered a box and installed, I think there are many different variations. One thing I do notice on mine is that steering effort is very easy, almost too sensitive on the hi way, but great for off-road. I did install 1.25 dgree castor bushings on the top ball joints to help tracking and stability on the road, wish I would have gone more, but it did help.

Hey Drock, If you have the box out of a two wheel drive I guess that one would bolt on the outside of the frame? I guess it's OK. I went with the one out of the 78/79 because that seemed to be the most popular way to go. I'm finaly to the point to where I can start welding everything up. Good luck, colt 45

Power Steering Hose #

dhobney,
The Carquest power steering hose part # I used was "35348 PSH".

This hose fit in the 77 400M steering pump and the 79 4x4 F250 steering box. Then it had to be bent to fit but fittings were correct and sealed well. Double check threads before bending lines in case you have to return.

ajustable drag link

I used a 78 power steering gear box on my 77 f-250 and the stock drag link work perfect. The stock drag link messured 13-3/8 center of pin to center on pin.

I guess you would need two tie rod ends and some thick wall tubing??? Thought their were some threads out there on just this subject??? Good luck. colt 45

colt45; I went to schucks auto supply and they didn't have this part number either, The guy went in the back and brought out a hose from a 1967 and later hose , it had the correct fittings on it but was only 17 inches long, it was a little short but I bent the ends and bolted it on and it fit and works great, hope this helps

The part numbers I used to make an adjustable drag link are;

Adjusting sleeve - Moog # ES 2004S
Tie rod end - Moog # ES 2838 RL
Tie rod end - Moog # ES 3095 R

I will look again at the power steering hose number, that was the number on the box.

kfcoltn,

Thanks again, I started this project in Oct of 09 and the hard stuff's done. Getting parts together has been tough. But I figure not bad for an OLD man in his 70's. colt 45
