Transmission Filter

Hey,
I'm getting ready to install my Transgo HD2. I was wondering about the trans. filter. I plan to flush the trans while I'm at it so which filter do I replace, the big black flat one visible under the pan, or the little thimble like one under the Accumulator VB?

The big black one. The thimble thing gets re-installed after the calibration plate goes on.

Get the filter from Autozone, part number TF 325, they're cheaper there than the dealership.

Just make sure the pick-up is about 2" long. I got one from O'Reilly's and it only had about a 1/2" pick-up. Had to go back & swap it.

Yeah, make sure the goombah working the counter grabs the correct part number for you.

The one I posted is for the 4x4 pan on our rigs. There is another filter (the one with the shorter pick up Iz referred to) for the 4R100, but that one is for the shallow pan, like the ones that came on my Lightning.
