I learned at a young age by my father. I dont do it for a living but sure love it. People used to ask my father if i was any good, He would tell them "he will weld the zipper on your pants with out burning you!" I dont miss the battles we had at work but it all worked out. We used to build all types of trailers. So i have that background.

Im going to make the inside one long piece from the back shock crossmember to the front crossmember where the ebrake cables where. I sure love my plasma cutter! Makes this a easy project.

Nice job alright. That looks like you could support an 18 wheeler with that noch. That turned out really nicely.

i just used 2x4 3/16's wall tube and made a notch then welded it up...
its kinda big step but im planning on running 20+ rim size in back and wanted to make sure to lay frame...the second pic shows how low its going to be...( the front isnt finished yet, still need to mod that to let it lay out)

After you put the step hat on the chassis, you cut the lower prt of the chassis at the
the same agnles, leaving the top surface.

Before you put the hat face on you need to put some reinforcement between the chassis and the hat
Front and rear. So what I was going to do, is make a small slit in the top of the chassis rail inside each ear of the hat
And use some flat stock to slide down into the slit (half of the piece inside the chassis rail at the same angle as the hat side)

I am on my blackberry so I can't use any pics

Sam, I have a question about the airbag it self. Mine has a min. height of 2.80" and a Max of 8.75". I subtracted one from the other and got 5.95" Is this my lift say? I think i was told before to lower the frame as low as i want it and install the bottom braket there and go up from there? Does this sound right? How would you, or did you do yours? Thanks!
