after adjusting the wastegate how many threads do you have left on the rod? the reason im asking is im not sure if the po had adjusted it or not and was just curious then if i took it off how far down is safe?
Not sure how high it will go right now, I have seen 12psi pulling a trailer and will easily hit 10psi unloaded on the street. Theres not much point in going higher than 10psi as the air gets to hot and you will start to lose power. I may go with an intercooler or water/meth injection later on, then I will look for more boost. Dyno results are in my sig.
awesome, thanks for the reply Syco. Ya man, my buddy is going to give me his intercooler off of his 2008 6.4 Superduty. When that goes down, I will check in with you. Hopefully you got yours by then.
you arent gonna ever see 10 lbs of boost when you get the intercooler on there deceptichop. filling all that area is going to be hard enough, and as the temp of the charge goes down, so does the psi. expect 5psi but you wont notice a drop in power because the air is more efficient
so when i hear people talking about "wiring the waste gate shut" what does that mean exactly, i put a ball bearing in the hose to the waste gate is that all there is to it?
Also you have to secure the "flapper" even tho its hooked to the rod then the valve/diaphram deal, high boost can still open it up. So basically you would just need to find a way to secure the "flapper" so it can't move. Wire, weld, pin, ect.
