I installed the Air Dog Fp100 today and when i turned the key on the pump kicked on, fuel pressure was reading 60psi after i purged the lines and when the stock fuel pump shut off the pressure dropped to 20psi. Is this cause the airdog is circulating the fuel and therefore the pressure drops? Didn't know if this was normal or what.... Also the airdog pump isn't extremely loud but you can hear it constantly running, is this normal?
It dropped to 20 psi because the stock pump turns off after a while if you don't start the engine and the Airdog kept running, its output is around 20 psi. Sounds like everything is working correctly.

Kinda what i figured but i wanted to make sure. Thanks for the reply!
You can wire in a relay that will time out when the factory pump times out so that the AD doesn't keep running. Take the trigger wires for the relay from the factory pump feed. It works great that way.
Thats what I did just tied the relay trigger wire to the factory pump that way they are both running at the same time. Only problem is my fuel pressure still goes below 60 at WOT, I think my factory fuel pump is excessively weak.

I actually lowered the fuel pressure on my AD2 today from 58 to 52 to see if it would help my large drop (down to 40). Now it drops from 52 to 45 so I'm going down just a tweak more to see if the bottom will come up just a bit. I'm also not convinced my incab gauge is very accurate either. I need to get a certified manual gauge to test it from somewhere. My gauge in the RR says 68 at idle. Which do I believe???

What relay is it? And is your AD not real noisey but you can hear it pretty good? The instructions say it's a quite running pump but mines much louder than the stock pump.
I added on a relay when I had my FASS and used the factory fuel pump power wires to feed/trigger it so that it would time out just like the factory pump does. When I installed the AD2 I just used my same wiring since it was already there and the plug in was the same.
The AD2 is louder than the factory pump but NOTHING like the FASS.

Man this is giving me the snikle fits. I unplugged the stock fuel pump wire when it shut off and the wire was still hot going to the fuel pump. If i tapped into that it would be like tapping into a constant hot. What am i missing here? It looks like there's a pink with black stripe wire that controls it but......
did you notice any difference in the idle or off the line performance or fuel pressure consistency?
I eventutually am going to do this and a RR when money allows.
Hey Joe,
Man i haven't even drove it yet. I noticed the injectors are alot quiter though from just idling. I'm trying to figure out the fuel pump wiring so i can just have it come on with that instead of on all the time. I'm getting ready to take a trip up to Spokane W from Oklahoma and i'm trying to get evrything on the truck in tip top shape. Gonna be stopping in colorado at Elite diesel to have the Arp studs put in with new STC fitting and head gaskets. I'll pm ya back when i've drove it a bit and let ya know what i think and how it runs.

Get a 4-prong relay rated for at least 40 amps--Mine was 60 and got it at Radio Shack. The pink/black and solid black wires that run to the HFCM are the ones to tap for trigger wires. If you look under the hood between the powersteering reservoir and the black fuse box you'll see a wad of light gray wiring harness connectors. One has the TWO HFCM wires coming out of one side. I mounted my relay to the bracket between the reservoir and fuse box, ran two short jumper wires from the pink/black stripe wire and the black wire to terminals 85 and 86 on the relay, which are the coil terminals. Terminal 30 on the relay would be fed by a 12 volt power source (I ran mine directly from the battery with 8ga) and terminal 87 or 87a would be the main power to your AirDog. When you turn your key on the relay triggers and feeds power directly to the AD. If you don't start the motor, for whatever reason, it will eventually time out and shutoff. It's not constantly hot.
