how do i replace the bolt tab thing for the electric motor for the electric locks. the tab thing that you can see from the latch area. looks kinda like a pop rivet. it came loose and might fall apart soon.
how do i fix the motor thing. the lock is not working on the passenger side and it is not drawing any power with a meter
I drilled it out and replaced it with a bolt. The problem is it cant be rock tight. (the mount has to move a little) I used a nylock nut so I could snug it. I got motors from ebay. But they dont last as long as origenals.
I got my motors from eBay as well but my experience is they last longer than the originals. They also don't seem to mind the bolt being tight. I have one that has been in my Bronco for over 10 years and the one in my F150 (both driver's side) is about 5 years old.
Oh, wait, I should clarify. Mine are those kind that come in a kit to add power locks to a car that doesn't have them. I got 4 motors for about $30. I just had to make a bracket and arm to make it work with my setup and then modify the wiring but it's a lot cheaper than buying OEM motors.
