Steering Wheel Removal
I have a problem removing the steering wheel from my 86 f150. The nut that holds the steering wheel on will not unscrew. I tried left, and then right. It will move each way a little and then it feels like it bottoms out. I don't want to force it too much and ruin it. The nut has indents around it. What do I need to do?

Nuts over steering...
The nut is a right hand thread: Rotate counterclockwise to remove. It is a "locking" type, so will turn fairly hard until the top of the nut is clear of the threads on the steering shaft. Do check the end of the shaft: It is possible that a previous owner (or service facility) may have mushroomed the end which would infinitely complicate matters. Assuming this is not the case, if you have access to an impact wrench (electric or pneumatic) that would probably make fairly quick work out of your wheel removal task. I hope this helps!
