Pull the engine. The oil pump is holding you back

i keep hearing a knock on start up and i think some of the drip stick broke off, not quite sure... but i just read it could be a leaky fuel injector...
now im 17 almost 18 and i know never to start a car that got a knocking unless u know it wont destroy the engine. so i wonce i hear that knocking i didnt know forsure wut it was a towed that truck home from school... but i now think its the injectors, im not goign to go to all that trouble to pull the oil pan. i thought it was more like like cars that it pulls off easy... ill check the oil for metal frag, im almost surtan now there r none, stickign new oil in tomorrow after school and going to forget the knock and starting that thing up thats guys

Be careful still if it's a leaking injector. I've seen the top of a piston eaten off because of that.

Really??? ooops...I guess I should replace mine, but mine only seems like an intermittent knock..it runs well and then some days it has a knock/ping...

With the engine running loosen the injector lines at the injectors one at a time with a wrench preferably a line wrench. Tighten each line back up before going to the next. You'll probably come to a cylinder which when the line is loosen the noise will go away. Of course an intermittent knock could also be that the engine has a bad wrist pin which has been known to happen. Dave S could probably give you a better idea though
