Congrats man. What part of the SO will you be working in? I wouldn't worry about how folks act around you. Those that are unacceptable to me are basically felons or folks I have no business hanging around with anyway. You have embarked on a new career. How long it lasts is up to you my man.

Nobody ever said you can't be in law enforcement and have a good time. You just can't get caught up in any messes, and do a lot of looking the other way for small time stuff while off duty. I like to think of myself as Joe citizen when I am off duty. Again, congrats and good luck.

I will be in the Detention Center they say the minimum is a year, but if you do a good job and people notice you, it can actually be as little as 5 or 6 months and then they put you thru the academy, and then in a cruiser. Just have to start out on the bottom and work my way up!!!
Thank you Mike!

Thank you Mike!

I guess you can call that starting out at the bottom. One year as a convict in the Detention Center, then get out in 5-6 months for good behavior? Then go thru the academy, then get a car.

Congrats Ray.

Just remember, if you associate with chit, you are likely to get some on you. At a minimum you will smell like chit. Fortunately there is not really any of those caliber folks here on FTE.
