To remove the switch, you have to depress a tab opposite the plug on the housing while you pull out the ****, then unscrew the trim bezel and it comes out from the back of the dash.
i wondered the same thing for the half hour it took me to figure it out as i was going bananas and wanted to take a chainsaw to it! its the simple things.....
Well, it wouldn't be much fun to pull your headlight **** clear out in the dark, it's just a safety feature I guess. Pretty universal across all the pull-**** headlight switches.
It is funny that all the dash ***** on this 1969 Ford F350 come offer deferent.
One has a set screw, one has a retainer inset, and the headlight switch has a secret button.

This post came at a good time for me. I had a bad switch on my 71. Using this information I had my 11 year old daughter swap it out tonght. Shes pretty proud of herself!
