Stock wheels?
My truck currently has wheels on it that I am sure aren't stock. The tires look too big also, in my opinion. Any idea what size tires came stock on this 71?
Forget those.
The drop-center rims you have on the truck look fine.
Tires look to be a couple sizes up.
In '71 you would still find tube-type 6.50 x 16, or 7.00 x 16 etc, bias ply, nylon, dyna-thump tires on 3/4 and larger PU.
Look at something like a 245/75 x 16 in an E load rating. Maybe an 85 series if you want taller, skinnier.
Now Numberdummy can tell you exactly what tire/wheel combos were on those new, so if he comes along and it's varied from the above, don't be surprised....

I have mid 80s 16x7 rims on mine now, they look stock on it, the original hubcaps even fit. My fronts are 235/85s and the rears are 285/75s, which closely replicate the 16x8 and 16x10 tires in appearance and fit on the truck.

Ppl assume today that these trucks came with radial tires. Nothing could be further from the truth.
All trucks and passenger cars thru the mid 1970's came with bias ply tires as standard equipment.
If a customer wanted radial tires, the dealer would install them, or the customer would go to a tire shop and get them.
Michelin invented the radial tire. The first vehicle in the world to come with radial tires was the 1955 Citroen ID19. The reason was Michelin owned Citroen back then.
The first US vehicle to come with radial tires (Michelin's) as standard equipment was the 1966 FWD Olds Toronado.
This was a necessity because GM found that bias ply's would not last more than 7,000 miles on the front wheels of these cars.
1967/72 F250 tire sizes: 7.00-16 // 7.50-16 // 8.00 x 16.5.
Dog dish hubcaps were all that Ford offered on F250's until 1972 when the first wheel covers were offered.
The original, and most common wheel covers used on 1972 thru 1979 F250's were from 1971/72 LTD's: D2AZ1130J.
LTD's, as y'all prolly know, came with 15" wheels. How could 15" wheel covers fit a 16" wheel?
Ford offered "beauty rings" for F250/350's beginning in 1972. These could be installed with the dog dish hubcaps to dress up the wheels, or...
The beauty rings (D2TZ1210A) were installed on the wheels, then the 15" wheel covers were snapped onto the beauty rings. Simple as that.
