Steering Stabilizer

I would like to put a steering stabilizer on my 2WD 1970 F100. I seem to find stabilizer shocks but no instillation kits.. Is anyone using one if so what kit did you use for installation.

Thank you.

I checked this out before. It looks like the available kit is a dual kit, the single kit is unavailable. Are you running the dual kit on a 2WD 1970 stock ride height?

Thanks again.

From what I found it's available for $43
Sorry the link didn't come up right.

No I'm running a single. With no power steering a dual kit would be tough.

I stopped by the AZ today and they confirmed it can be special ordered for $43.00.
I will get one ordered this Friday.

Since you are running one, does it help the truck... crowned roads, poorly repaired sections and lane changes (over the reflectors)?

Ok!! I finally put the stabilizer on yesterday! I didn't have time to test drive it until this morning on my way to work.
It drives great! No bumpsteer! The truck traks straight down the road when you turn the wheel loose! It doesn't remove the play in the steering but it sure helps with the twitchiness. My truck doesn't have power steering and the stabilzer didn't make it any harder to turn in a parking lot.
I can definitly say that it is money well spent!

Fantastic to hear this as I have the manual steering and same steering issues.
I will be installing mine on Friday. Was the install straight forward?
Have you adjusted the steering box at all? I may try to adjust any slop out of it once I see how the stabilizer affects it but the wheels turn when I touch the steering wheel so not much play...
Again Fantastic... Happy Driving..

I haven't adjusted the box in years. My truck only has 87000 on it. But I'm thinking some of the tie rod ends are worn.
