1/4 mile

so my truck is obviously not fast and never will be but since my car is put up for the winter a bit early due to my upcoming deployment i decieded to run the truck friday night. lets hear what yours run!!! heres mine.. @ 4500ft above sea level

18.47 @ 74mph haha oh and 2.7 60' lol i think i can run that fast.

i was hoping for under 20.0 so i guess im happy, but that is incredibely slow. especially since i had 7.5 seconds to read the other guys time. I do think i have a few issues mainly one with the trans. it feels like the converter engages way too low. if i let off the brake the truck will climb hills without throttle and in gear idles around 450-500 and 900 in neutral. really doggy off the line and am hard pressed to spin the tires even on wet pavement. any thoughts???

i use my truck to haul equipment. if i want to "go fast" i would ask the boy if i could borrow his Cobra Mustang. A 5000 pound truck is never going to outrun anything.

I beg to differ. a 5k truck just takes a bit more juice to get going. Last time I went to the track, I ran 16.854 @ 80.170 mph in the 1/4 mile. Not super fast, but I beat 1 2000 Subaru Legacy, mid 90's Saturn sports coup, and trailed a beautiful fully restored Ford Granada with a 302, by 2 hundredths of a second.

Granted, my truck has a 351 though.

Slowsnake, if your truck has the 5.4L, then yes the converter is really tight. The 4.6L uses a looser converter. The Superduty 5.4L does as well.

Dont tell that to the deisel guys either. They out haul F150s in more ways than one. There are more than a few 7000lb 12 second trucks out there. Better bring the Cobra

Well my edge evo says im in the Mid to low 16's, how accurate i dont know. Cant wait to run a real 1/4 with it. I cant hook up to save my life though off the line on the street. Im hoping that a track with some decent rubber laid down will help.

Hopefully next year i can run it and my CBR 954RR

From what i have found street tires are even worse on a prepped track the compounds are so different that they wont hook.

Oh and thanks, lxman1, for the converter info do you happen to know the stall differences in them?
