choke/fast idle cam

I posted this in the I6 forum and didn't get a response, so I'll try here. I'm having a problem with my truck's carb (the 86) wanting to hang on the fast idle cam. When the engine is revved up, the fast idle cam will vibrate up so the throttle sticks on it when I let off the gas. I also noticed that when fully warmed up, the choke plate can still go about 1/4" more before it's fully open. I am getting voltage at the choke connector with the engine running, and the engine still runs and starts great. All linkage is clean and freely moves. Does this sound like my choke is going bad? What would cause the fast idle cam to do that? I'm a little hesitant to go "adjusting" things as it runs so good now other than that. Thanks for any suggestions.

I belive there is a regular screw that holds the cam to the carb (atleast there is on the older one's ) I would take a look at that if it is loose tighten it up and they may solve your problem

Thanks. I tightened the screw you mentioned, but I don't know if it did anything as it was tight to begin with and the cam didn't feel any different. It ran great today, but I think that problem only shows up in colder weather, so I don't know if I found it or not...
