Derek, Berthoud Transportation says you never came out when they started it and that it had a flat when they got there (you did and it didn't ). Funny, tire holds air now, just like it did before. Claims he never mouthed off and said he'd dump the truck, when I told him he was on tape he admitted it, said the guy (me) was cussing him out, not me, I don't cuss people out and said he can dump a truck in storage anytime he feels like not dealing with the customer. Dummy thinks the lawyer who's after him and the truck owner are 2 different guys. Refused to refund a fair amount of my money ($250) for not treating it as an inop, said they start and drive inops all the time, since I paid extra for that service, as well as door-door, refused to give me his insurance (against them rules), told me to go ahead and call DOT, he doesn't care, "I don't give a $ht what some a$$*ole lawyer says, you can f yerself" then hung up, of course I taped everything. HE'S IN MY RING NOW. Once I get the evidence I need from the broker I will crush these guys.To think, I would have let the guy off for a mere $250 refund and his insurance info. My paint guy is going over the truck with a fine tooth comb and I will do the same mechanically this weekend. So far they're 2 mystery dents in the roof, one in the door. Just wanted to update ya'll. Based on my experience I would avoid berthoud Fair Deal Auto and AAAllstates like the plague, but that's jsut my individual opinion based on my dealings with them. maybe he and that mover I shut down here in TX can open a Tastee Freeze or something.
Just be careful posting this stuff here -- I believe the site rules mention something about posting stuff about litigation. And of course, you're also putting stuff you're planning on a public forum...
A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.
OK, I'll admit it sounds like you know what you're doing, but what are the odds I'll ever get another chance to say that to a lawyer?
Keep us updated on your saga, but as mentioned, skip the legal action part since discussing that is a no-no here. Keeping us apprised of what each party is claiming, the total amount of damages, and the final outcome should be permitted though.
