has anyone ever used this cam in a small ford its Lunati bracket II cam with straight pattern 292 in 292 ex @230 512 in 512 ex i can get one at a great price but was wondering if its a great mid range cam
will be using it in a 72 maverick with a 302 or 289 auto c-4 or aod
That cam will cause severe loss of power on a stock engine... An Automatic, is a definate NONO but you could maybe mask alot of the issue with a a stick...
You wont have enough compression, with a stock bottom end, to have good fuel atomization... does that make sense? it wont idle, it will bog off the line, you will need a 4000 stahl converter in an automatic.
My advice, is keep the lift around 500, which you are close, but the duration is huge... and your gonna need alot of Rpms to get it to work... I would not reccomend going over 232 dur @50, and might add Ford likes 106 or 110 center line... When putting it in, advance it to around 106 deg on the wheel...
thanx for the advice i know i reallly never made it clear what kind of performance i wanted but i do enough about cams that this isnt suitable for a stock engine ,just wanted to see who all might have used this cam and what there whole setup was
