c-5 transmission

how does the ford c-5 compare too the c-4 i can get my hands on a c-5 along behind a 302 im looking to buy but wasnt sure if i shoald get the whole combo or not this will be for a maverick

The C5 is basically just a C4 with some minor strength upgrades and a lockup torque converter. That equals lower trans. temps, longer engine life, and better fuel economy. If the C5 comes complete with the correct converter, go for it.

from what i read in a repair manual the C4,C5 and the C9 are the same, The C is the mark of the sixtys and the numbers are suppose to mean the year. They should be simalir enough according to what ive read
