It is the black dot with the blinking red light in it, located on on top of the driver side dash towards the windshield in the corner.
I don't know where the auto headlight sensor is , but that 'black dot with the blinking red light' is the Anti-theft indicator. Page 142 in my '07 owners manual.

It is most certainly the sensor for the auto head lights as well.
If you don't believe me, I was advise you to start you truck start it in the sun, put the headlights to auto and cover the "anti-theft" light completely and the headlights will come on within 5 seconds.
I just verified this on my truck to make sure.....
Wow, it sounds like I need to eat crow. Wait a minute, I didn't say it wasn't there. I just said I didn't know where it was but that that device was the anti theft sensor.
So, that would mean if your truck didn't come with auto head lights then it doesn't have the security system either. That's why I love this site, I'm always learning something.
My 2007 XL didn't come with auto headlights but has that blinking light, I'm looking into finding what I need to have auto headlights right now actually, that's how I found this thread... lol
