Auto headlight delay
Anyone know if it's possible to extend the auto headlight delay when turning the truck off? Right now it's barely long enough for me to grab a couple things and get out of the truck before the headlights turn off.

on my 07 you can change that setting using the setup button to the right of the steering wheel on the dash. just push it 3 or 4 times until auto lamp delay is displayed on the instrument cluster the push reset until you get the desired number of seconds. i have mine set for 180 seconds. not 100% sure if its the same in an 04 but thats how it works in an 07.

It's in your owner's manual on how to extend the time max is 3 minutes. If you don't have an owners manual let me know and I can post how to do it.

Autolamp control (if equipped)
The autolamp system provides light sensitive automatic on-off control of the exterior lights normally controlled by the headlamp control.
The autolamp system also keeps the lights on for approximately 20 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to OFF.
To change the delay time of the autolamp feature, do the following:
1. Start with the ignition in OFF and the autolamps selected.
2. Deselect the autolamps.
3. Put the ignition in RUN.
4. Put the ignition in OFF.
5. Select the autolamps. Steps 2 through 5 must be performed within a 10 second period. At this point, the headlamps and parking lamps will turn on.
6. Deselect the autolamps after the desired autolamp delay time (maximum of 3 minutes). At this point, the headlamps and parking lamps will turn off.

Heck, I didn't even know that was adjustable. I'll try it tonight. Thanks.

Did this last night and it works just as described by PowerstrokeHD. Which of course is what was printed in my manual.
I went 1 minute, and it's a little long for my taste. I think I will change it to about 40 seconds.
