Finally time for a quick update. Got my cab corners (Dennis Carpenter) and front cab mounts(NPD, DC too pricey!) in. Planning on bringing the cab home next month, building a wooden frame with casters, so I can move it around the garage. Also, picking up an 89 F-250, for the motor (351W) and it's ZF-5 tranny and tc. I'll rob whatever I need off of the truck, and scrap the rest. I'll have pictures of it when I pick it up.

Just found this thread. Great project! And thanks for taking the time to photograph and show us your progress. I'm using that double engine stand idea.

Thanks! Make sure your engine stand are straight up and down. One of mine was angled back, and it was a pain to keep it level, I had to put blocks under the back of it to keep the head level!

Here are a few pics of the 89 F-250 I picked up, I'm taking the 351W and the ZF-5 and TC out of it. I'm going to keep the factory EFI stuff for now, but I may not use it, if it's too much of a pain to hook up. I'll either run a carb, or go with an aftermarket EFI.

Got the cab home and on the dolly. Going to need some work, especially the inside of the cab corners. From what I've seen, they don't remake that panel, so I'll have to build them.

Curious to why carb or aftermarket EFI when you already have EFI? You have everything you need to make it work. The ECM, pump, harness. Just curious.

I'm not a huge fan of the factory manifold, and it'll be a ton of work to got through the harness and get rid of everything I don't need. The new EFI systems are also tuneable, and come with the tuner. And they work better, and look better. This thing had all of the 80's smog crap on it.

About time you posted some more pictures...lol.

I see what you are talking about the cab corners being shot. Overall it does look solid.

Yeah, I'll just have to fab some new ones up. There is one other spot that will need some metal replaced on the front corner of the firewall, otherwise it's all solid.
