Patches are ready to weld into the kick panels. You can see in the second pic, the flange that I made with the bead roller. Almost a perfect match. Should have these welded in tonight.
Luckily, the weather held out long enough for me to get POR-15 on the cowl and floors. I'll be spraying epoxy over all of this. I'll probably just puff can some paint on the inner cowl, before I weld it back together.
Coated the area where the panel will fit back around the rear window with Eastwood's rust encapsulator. I'll hit the spots around the rear window, and down below, where it gets welded back on, with weld through primer.
Also been doing some sandlblasting with the cabinet. These are the pieces that weld to the back of the door supports. Pretty roached at the bottom, I'll be fabbing up som replacement peices for them.
So, thanks to my buddy Don from Oregon, I now have the inner sections of the cab corners! He cut these out for me, and shipped them down. So, I'll be getting these apart, and getting the new peices on.Thanks again, Don!!
Woohoo! Progress! Since it was in the 70's yesterday, took off a half day, and got some welding done. The panel around the rear window is welded back on, and most of the welds have been grounded smooth.
Got the passenger side cab corner disassembled (these are the one's Don hooked me up with), and it's in amazing shape. I'm planning on using this sheet metal for this side, instead of the Dennis Carpenter peice, this one fits much better.
The drivers side is a different story. I removed the makeshift exhaust hanger that someone put here, for whatever reason. Not sure if I can save this outer piece, but I'm going to try. If I can, I'll sell the DC corners that I have.
