i HAVE A STOCK 04 f250 5.4 WITH 4.10 GEARS. i WAS TOLD TO CHANGE THE y PIPE BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTION AND PUT ONE FROM EBAY ON. wAS TOLD IT WILL HELP WITH POWER AND mpg OVER ANYTHING ELSE. wAS ALSO TOLD TO TRY THE sts TUNER. aNY THOUGHTS?

I want to do the Y-Pipe as well. It has a pretty good following/reputation here, but the 5.4 has no bolt on option.
tuner discussions will tend to move in the direction of who's more popular right now, but until it's put on a dyno it's not going to be the optimal solution for your truck. So pick who ever gives you warm and fuzzy feeling and don't look back.
