Dyno?

Anybody put their truck on the dyno?

I would be interested in seeing your numbers.

I think I am going to take mine over to Ken Imler diesl and do a dyno run before I start messing with it.

I know what the stock figures are, but I also know that a lot of you turn your pumps up and add turbo chargers and stuff.

If any of you are in the Sacto area and are interested in a Dyno run, maybe we can get a rate for getting two trucks on there.

I've thought of getting my truck dyno'd, but never really explored it. What does a dyno run typically cost?

In many bigger towns some of the diesel shops have dyno days, reduced or even free rates.

On normal days, rates are usually not that cheap, a dyno is a rather costly piece of equipment.

100 or 150 usually gets you a couple runs is what I normally hear for prices.

I'd throw $$ into a pot to get Dave's truck on a dyno, especially before he decides to put an intercooler on it.

We've been trying to get his truck on a dyno for years.....keep trying guys.

Some of us have to work for a living it seems.

Our town has a dyno shop that opened a few years ago and heard its $60 for a single run. Never went there but its not a priority for me.

I was offered free runs on a dyno a year or two ago.

Catch, 6 hour drive from here to the dyno and then 6 more hours home again.

There are many other things that would be a much better use of my time.

Joe, I have been hauling and towing weight like that since the truck was new with the stock 6.9 NA under the hood.

Like I have said many times before, it don't make any difference what I haul or tow, I will get there.
Maybe I won't be the first one there, but I will get there.

The only time I have been stranded was when I took the short route and installed a reman 7.3 turbo engine.
I should have taken the time and rebuilt the 6.9 to start with and been done with it.

But motor sitting here, 14 hour swap and back on the road with a reman engine looked good, right up till it was in my truck.
Then the nightmare started.

Took me about three weeks to rebuild what I have now working weekends and after work, also missing several days to rain since I did it outside in my driveway.

The rebuild was even 1500 cheaper than the reman was and I am coming up on twice as many miles as I got out of three remans.

28,000 out of three remans and I am a bit over 50,000 on the motor I built in round numbers.
