91 F150 stalling

91 F150 stalling
My father's 91 F150, 302, 4x4, 5spd. developed a stalling problem in one afternoon. The truck drove fine, parked, 15 min. later, it will start/idle fine, but it will not take any fuel??
The fuel filter seems ok, and lots of pressure from both tanks (should there be 2 or 3 pumps?)
Sometimes if you can feather the gas enough to get it over 1200, it will rev fine until you have to let off again. Is this a common prob? Any thoughts? Thanks!
