Post Ford and Mazda

I realize Ford and Mazda have been together for many years now but what year was it official? And would I be able to purchase a Mazda factory service manual from a Ford dealership? The vehicle in question is a 1987 Mazda B2600 4x4 with 5 speed. I need help, advise, an exorcisism, prayer in regard the vacuum lines and the carburetor. The truck starts and runs great but refuses to idle most of the time. Just when I thought I achieved success and got the motor to settle into a smooth, steady idle for several minute, I gased it only to have it die once it got back down to idle speed. I want to verify the vacuum lines are in the correct locations and be able to trouble shoot carb problems. The Chilton manual for 87 to 93 Mazda Trucks is worthless when it came the vacuum section. There is one vacuum diagram but it doesn't even come close to my truck. The carb is a Mikuni and has three or four electrical devices(sensors?) built into it. I removed and disassembled the carb and blew air through all the jets, orfices, etc. I could get to. The carb really surprised me at how easy it was to disassemble and inspect. Any mechanics that have an old shop manual for this truck that is gathering dust and would like to get rid of let me know your price.:-X23

One thing you might try is making sure your EGR valve is not leaking (if it has one). On many vehicles a leaking EGR valve or bad EGR valve gasket can cause vac. line problems like you describe. Especially if you have replaced all the lines correctly and properly rebuilt the carb. Also, on some vehicles, the 1/8 hard plastic line can break with age and look good, but, have hard to see splits.

Just sold a 87 mazda B2600 and had to put several carbs on while I owned it. By the way were around 700 dollars when you could find it. After checking for vacuum leaks and make sure the carb adjustment screw hasnt fell out you might as well put a new cabr on it they are impossible to fix. by the way when ya put the new one on be sure to put a inline filter as which they dont take kindly to any trash getting into them which yours sounds like. good luck!!!! ps just bought myself a 2000 Ford f150 4x4 and I lub it.
