I have the under dash mount with my guages and it not akward at all. Once you "learn" your guages all it will take is a quick glance.

I would rethink the 40 tow and get 80 econo instead myself... I really don't think you'll miss the 40 tow at all.

Got a feeling he does a lot of towing and he may have exactly what he needs.

I should add that I am a child of the 50's so it looks right to me to have the gauges under the dash.

You got it right. That's all I do is tow, mostly to local beaches, around 100 miles away round trip, and yearly up into the Sierra's in the fall. But I got an F6 so I my "try" an 80E to see if i like it.
