And that's the "leading" dino against the Castrol "synthetic"...
Yep. Just 2 cars show up. No note of engine condition or anything. Was that leading dino with garbage in it in a crummy engine vs fresh Castrol synthetic? Nobody really knows.
Just so you know, I am NOT one of them. I also am not someone who will beat someone for money. I will do it for free and I doubt they will come away with a warm and fuzzy feeling afterward.

I have a padnuh that was a Ford factory trained diesel tech (20yrs) on the 6.0 and back- real knowledgable w/ the 7.3- plus that's what he drives. He recommended adding 1 pint of supertech outboard motor oil to every tank full of fuel ( comes out to about 120:1 ratio ). Reason being- the older "true diesels" were designed to run on higher sulphur diesel- sulpher acts as a lubricant in diesel fuel. Nowadays, we all know we have to run ultra-low sulphur diesel- so, where's the lubricity ?? Alot of it's gone w/ the sulpher- most of it, actually. The newer diesels are designed for it- ours (the 7.3's) are not- we prolly need a little more lubricity- mine does definately to run smoother w/ it.

AFAIK, it is not the sulfur in this case that is really much of a lubricant. At least not in the levels it is at. It is the process of removing the sulfur that strips of some of the aromatic compounds that lubricate. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. The process of removing the sulfur also removes the natural lubricity of the fuel. So in another extremely well thought out plan by a gov't agency, we have to pay to remove it, then pay extra to have it put back. Great plan, doncha think??

Absolutely fantastic plan. Just like a stockbroker, they make money on ever end. Oh, you lose. Tough. Better luck next time. Sure. These are they guys I trust to manage my healthcare, run GM and Chrysler, etc, etc. Yeah, right.

If you want the straight data and I am not promoting this other site, but
this is the most comprehensive data I have ever seen. I printed a hard copy from dieselplace dot com. search for: lubricity additive study results. It was done at the southwest research lab in the great state of Texas.
Results were in order of best lubricity to least:
#1. REG 2% bio diesel blend with 98% pump diesel #2. Opti Lube XPD 13oz per 26 gallons #3 FPPF RV,Bus,SUV Diesel treatment 5.2oz per 26 gal #4 Opti Lube summer blend multi purpose 1.11 oz per 26 gal #5 Opti Lube winter blend 6.5 oz per..... #6 Schaeffer Diesel treat 2000 3.32 oz per... #7 Super Tech Outboard 2-cycle TC-3W 16.64 oz per.... #8 Stanadyne lubricity formula 3.32 oz per.... #9 Amsoil Diesel concentrate 5.2 oz per.... #10 Power Service Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost 8.32 oz per....
There is a lot more there Tried to scan & copy but I cant get it to work...
