My rear view mirror fell off yesterday, I bought some glue at napa to put it back up. Does the little metal plate that attaches to the window come out of the plastic piece on the end off the mirror stem? I tried prying and gently tapping but it wouldn't budge. Anyone been thru this? I hate to break the plastic and have to buy a whole new mirror assembly. Thanks
Some of the newer ones snap in place with no set screw. There was a thread about this maybe a couple of months ago about this very thing. If you can find it, it should answer your question.
I'm still working on it. Looked for a set screw but didn't see any, however there is a small opening on the one end that I can't see to the bottom. Might try a couple different allen wrenches and see if one will work.
I do like the improved forward visibility, except I miss it when towing my utility trailer. Like to be able to keep an eye on things in the trailer, make sure nothing is coming loose or threatening to blow out of the trailer.
Yea gotta be the snap on type, if it had a set screw you'd have see it with another once over had you missed it the first time. Reason for the question mark in my OP here.
