Sticky brake caliper
The lft front wheel of my '88 F-150 started pulling real bad. Determined that it was not turning freely. Took apart the brakes and found the wheel bearings appear to be OK. Brake shoes Ok. Assume problem was a stuck brake caliper.
Had to compress it to in order to remove. Should it be OK after re-assembly. Or should I replace it? Any other idea's? Thanks in advance.

I would replace it, better yet replace both calipers. I had a sticky caliper on my 85, it progressively got worse to the point of smoking when it stuck. I was lucky I didn't warp the rotor before I finally changed them.

Replace both calipers as a good measure - it's the rule for replacing any front-end components really. Another thing that's often overlooked is the brake hoses - with age these wear out and collapse internally, when you step on the pedal the high line pressure pushes fluid through the blockage, but upon pedal release some fluid remains trapped in the calipers causing them to drag.

Actually, before replacing the calipers, what shape were the caliper slider pins in? Are the rubber boots torn? If the pins become corroded or if enough rust forms between the caliper hole and slider boots, the pins will not allow the caliper to slide side to side freely. I'd check that first before popping for new calipers. ...Just a thought.
