hi again.... does any one know what years will interchange?????? i have an 85 f-350 and i can't seem to find power window switches and motors??? this truck is a extended cab only 2 doors thanks for your help caveman 53

What are you trying to do?
Do you need replacements for the power group you already have, or are you looking to add power windows to your truck?
If you want to add them, then 80-86 has the switches to look original, but the motors didn't really chance much all the way to 1996. I also found that the "help" section of auto parts stores sometimes have switches that look a LOT like the OEM for 80-86 trucks.
If you want the door panels to look OEM for 1985, then look for a donor that is late 84, 85 or 86. Older ones have a different fake wood grain on the doors, while later ones simply have cloth on the doors. Cloth is color matched, while the wood grain of the early years doesn't really match the fake wood on the dash cluster bezel of later years.

In some rare cases you can fix the gear motors if you take them apart. They are quite massive and don't usually fail without reason. There is also an automatic current limiting bimetal switch on them that prevents you from jambing them at both ends of travel. Sometimes they will stick in the open position.
Everything is VERY low tech.
