Pulled the injectors, have a question...

Hi everyone, today on my 04 I pulled all the injectors and was surprised to see the HP oil rails don't look like the pic on page 40 of the 6.0 bible. I removed the rails by lifting and there was no hydraulic type oil line with quick-disconnect fitting requiring a special tool ( as per Matt's great 07 thread). Only a tube with o-rings. Is this an earlier or later version? Seems like a lot of pressure for a single 0-ring...
I found some new in box International injectors on eBay, Int #1845150C94. Any reason not to go with eight of these?
Thanks for a great forum, Dana

Change made in 2004:

The high-pressure oil rail has been redesigned (wavy design) to increase oil capacity and to reduce noise. The new design wavy high-pressure rail has increased the volume from 15 cubic inches to 30 cubic inches. This reduces pressure fall-off during injection and improved emissions and fuel economy.
• The stand pipes’ serviceability has been improved.

The high-pressure stand pipe is a two piece pipe that is sealed to the high-pressure rail and high-pressure branch by o-rings.
The stand pipe has a check valve inside to limit hydraulic disturbance (feed back from injector operation).
Do not disassemble the highpressure stand pipe. This will cause damage to the internal components of the pipe. If at any point, a stand pipe is disassembled, discard and replace it.

As far as the injector question, that part number does not match any numbers I have for the 6.0L.

Here are the numbers I have down:

Early Injectors: (White Top)
Ford Part Number: 3C3Z-9E527-AE
Fits 2002.5 - 2003 Ford Powerstroke 6.0L
International Part Numbers: 1843089C91, 1845879C91, 1843481C94, 1843481C95
Fits 2003 - 2004 International VT365 6.0L

Late Injectors: (Black Top)
Ford Part Number: 4C3Z-9E527-AA
Fits 2004 - 2006 Ford Powerstroke 6.0L
International Part Numbers: 1844751C2, 1846692C92
Fits 2004 - 2006 International VT365 6.0L and VT275 4.5L

Thanks for the info and quick reply Mark. I am concerned that the numbers are not on your list. I have found the number in an Alliant Power Application Guide and it does track to my injectors; Ford #4C3Z9E527AA. Maybe i could get some verification from a knowledgeable International dealer parts guy. I'll also see if I can call Alliant too.
Mark, with the heads open, would you advise against running a torque wrench over the stock headbolts? 130K on the motor. Don't want to awaken a sleeping bear...

Agreed! The head bolts are "torque to yield" and therefore do not have a final torque specification.
