i am full of question and problems here lately. but when i try to do a cylinder test with the gauge the truck seems to go under a load and shuts off. i am going to say that is not normal. right? am i doing the test wrong or do i have a problem. when i do a buzz test with it, it buzz one long time then 8 short then tells me it can not complete the test.
I have heard there were issues with it completing the CCT. I haven't tried it yet myself. I REALLY need to do that. I'll try to get it done tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
Subscribing. I really, really hate the little bity tiny code display, but after seeing Joe's guage, I kind of want one of these.
If you can't get the CCT done right Joe, we can do it with my AE. Might be a good idea to get rotational velocity numbers on the old, then new sticks when the time comes too, just for reference.
Ive heard of a few people have the same problem, the main reason I havent gotten one yet.
IIRC someone had a terminator scan gauge and it wasnt working so they complained to terminator engineering and they referred them to manufacturer of the gauge...
i sent terminator an e mail today asking what was the problem. hope to hear something soon. truck not acting right and that is the only scan tool i have righ now. Might be looking for a AE sooner than planed.
Yep -- I couldn't complete either test. The CCT wouldn't start because I have my AIH & EBPV solenoid deleted without any resistors (yet). I need to get that done... But the buzz test started, then quit. I'd really like to find out why it's not working. I'll see if I can get a call into AeroForce and find out what the skinny is. That's not right -- they sell a device that supposed to W, X, Y, & Z and it doesn't. In my biz, I'd get hammered for that.
Let us know what you find Joe, Id really like one of these but dont wanna spend the money if it doesnt work and/or they dont stand behind there product.
I just purchased the gauge from Terminator and I'm not able to get it to work. I guess I selected a parameter that isn't supported by my truck, so when it goes to scan it, it doesn't see anything, assumes the truck is off, and so shuts down (according to AeroForce website). So now I can't even get it to stay on long enough for me to change anything. Kinda frustrating and disappointed that they have that poor of programmers for these things.
That'd be like me trying to connect to a printer on my computer, it doesn't find it, so it shuts down.
I haven't heard anything bad about these gauges, until now. Hopefully I get an response from Aerforce soon, I'd kinda like to be using my multi-hundred dollar gauge, instead of it sitting inside my console.
